A geocoin can be many different things to many different people. At their simplest level they are just a coin or trinket which folks collect. Some geocoins are fun, some are artistic and beautiful, ALL geocoins are treasured by their owners and creators.
They become more exciting if you release them to "travel". Each coin we produce has a unique tracking code. Anyone who finds the coin can enter this code online at www.geocaching.com and find out where that coin has already travelled, you can also follow it's journey on google earth.
The most common way to release a coin is to place it in a geocache, which leads us to the next question.......
